Our journey /

Welcome to follow Lumo Ensemble’s journey over the years, starting from the shared years of studying to this day.

Practicing a classical instrument requires long-term determination, countless hours of working, and it challenges constantly to develop further. At best, it can offer unbelievable experiences, opportunity to work together with great people, a chance to make new friends from all around the world - and most of all - to enjoy music!

It has been unforgettable to play to lovely audiences in Finland and abroad! Thank you for everyone involved in our journey and to the new talents in music, keep on going for your dreams!

 We hope you enjoy!

Live Music on a String Quartet

Lumo Ensemble performed pieces from Sibelius and Mårtenson in URA foundations event at Casino Helsinki. Congratulations to the talents in sports receiving study grants !

The quartet was also seen on stage at a night club for the first time ! Lumo played in Football Club TPS's celebration at Aalto night club, in Turku. It was a blast !

Fall 2017

Summer 2017

2018

The year 2018 was concluded with a happy surprise, since we had the honour to be nominated as one of the top wedding entrepreneurs in Finland in a contest organised by Love me do Winter Fair. Thank you so much for our audiences at weddings throughout the years !

Please, have a look at pics from Tällberg. Lumo had a privilege to play at Aurora Borealis foundation's workshop to an international audience. The program consisted of wonderful chamber music pieces from Eino-Juhani Rautavaara, Jean Sibelius and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The wiew was just amazing in Tällberg !

The group had also a fun day at a drone photoshoot in Helsinki, by Kaisaniemenpuisto in August.

It was an honour to play in a concert in Leksand Church, Sweden, organised by Aurora Borealis foundation.

The concert program reflected a discussion of a theme: "What do we mean by Humanity? What is it?"  Wonderful artists from all over the world searched answers to one of the great questions of life.

In the concert, Lumo Ensemble performed Aulis Sallinen's String Quartet No. 3, "Some Aspects of Peltoniemi Hintrik's Funeral March"

Spring 2016

2017

Lumo Ensemble had a memorable concert trip to Svalbard. The quartet was privileged to perform at an international conference organised by Aurora Borealis Foundation. Program included beloved chamber music pieces from Jean Sibelius, Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. What an experience - looking back with warm feelings!

It was also exciting to ride snowmobiles in the ice fields. One of the vehicles even got stuck in the melted ice, but luckily we managed to push it on solid ground. An unforgettable journey all in all.

Couple of photoshoots, performance at the Governments office buildings opening celebration, weddings, birthday parties... It was a blast!

This photo was taken at Turku Arts Academy, Crichton-hall. By this very grand piano we have played in concerts already in 2009 and before.

Importantly, the joy of making music together continues, share it with us !

Music always has a central role in wedding parties. Especially the songs that are selected by the bride and groom make the event very personal and unique.

Lumo has been honored to play at several wedding celebrations over the years, what a joy it has been to be a part of these special moments!

The quartet also played at Tällberg Foundations workshop in Helsinki and a world premiere of Christmas opera by Ville-Paavali Hyvönen at Heinola Church.
