Johanna Rousi

Johanna Rousi graduated with masters degree from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, where she studied under guidance of professor and 1st solo-cellist of Vienna Symphoniker, Christoph Stradner. Johanna also completed a Master of Music degree from Sibelius Academy, where she studied with Samuli Peltonen. Previously she studied at the Turku Arts Academy and East Helsinki Music Institut with the teachers Erkki Lahesmaa, Timo Hanhinen and Roi Ruottinen. She has also taken part to several  masterclasses with many internationally renowned teachers.

 

Johanna is an active camber musician, and she has performed in a variety of finnish music festivals: Nauvo Chamber Music Festival, Rauma Festivo and the Festival Brinkhall Soi, to name a few. She has also played as a chamber musician in Japan, Slovakia, Belgia, Sweden and Norway. With Lumo Ensemble she has performed in Svalbard, Norway, and in spring 2017 in Tällberg Sweden.

 

During her studies Johanna has also worked as a substitute in Turku and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestras. She has also played twice as a soloist of Turku Philharmonic Orchestra at the ”Young Soloists Concert” in 2010 and 2013. Moreover, she has received study grants from Finnish Cultural Foundation, Paulo Foundatiton and Greta and William Lehtinen Foundatiton.
